Our Landscape Design Process

Initial Consultation

This initial meeting takes place at the project site, and gives us an opportunity to listen to our client’s vision for their landscape.   We will walk the site with clients and review preliminary design ideas to ensure we are clear about the initial direction of design. We will ask clients for a copy of their Plat Survey, example below, which provides the property lines, utility setbacks and much much more information of existing site essential to have prior to beginning the design process. 

Site Analysis and Conceptual Design

We perform a complete site analysis and begin developing conceptual designs. We generate two to three design possibilities along with preliminary budgets.  Then meet with clients to present our initial concepts in plan views. 

Master Plan and Construction Drawings

Upon review of conceptual designs, hardscape materials and planting suggestions, we return to the design table and combine all the approved elements into a final plan.  We meet with clients again for approval of final design plan, budgets and scope of project.  If a project requires a permit, JMR can produce the necessary drawings and documents for submittal.  Upon approval, we move forward to installation and construction phase.
